Kayak Classes
Whitewater Kayaking is a rapidly growing adventure sport that in recent years has
becoming more accessible to persons from all walks of life. As with rafting, kayaking
is an excellent option for enjoying the water and outdoors but in a more individual
way. A kayak is more versatile than a raft on the river, with the possibility of
quickly maneuvering in and out of currents, stopping completely in the middle of
strong rapids and even paddling against the current to ferry across streams.
We offer beginner to advanced kayak programs on the nearby Pejibaye and Pacuare
Rivers. Beginner programs include standard river safety, self-rescue systems, basic
paddling technique, eskimo roll instruction and introductory river running skills.
Intermediate boaters can learn techniques on advanced eddy hopping, boof and waterfall
approach, flatwater playing, wave surfing, rodeo playboating and follow-through
roll technique.
Whether it´s paddling down a gentle mountain stream or making aggressive moves to
avoid rocks and obstacles, kayaking instills a feeling of adventure and self-accomplishment
that´s hard to describe.
