Trip Itinerary:
Day 1: Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! (Welcome to Costa Rica!)
When you arrive in San Jose, an Explornatura guide meets you at the airport and accompanies you to Turrialba, a beautiful, quaint mountain town nestled in the Central Mountain Range of Costa Rica, two hours southeast of San Jose. Your evening is highlighted by dinner with the tour group and meeting the Explornatura guide who will lead the rest of your trip.

Day 2: Canyoning and Mountain Biking
Your first day in Costa Rica starts of right with your first adventure, Canyoning! After descending the waterfalls, crossing the canopy zip lines, walking across the hanging bridge and a few other surprises, you get to savor the true flavors of Costa Rica as you lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we set out for CATIE, one of the worlds premiere tropical agriculture research stations to enjoy an enlightening and exciting tour across their vast plantations and gardens on one of the many mountain bike trails.

Day 3: Whitewater Rafting
An early start sees you off to whitewater raft one of the top 5 rivers in the world, the Pacuare. This is guaranteed to be a time of your life as you experience not only the amazing rapids (class III and IV) but also the breathtaking flora and fauna of the national park reserve that borders the Pacuare on both sides. Your transportation to La Fortuna awaits you at the end of the river.

Day 4: Caving and the Arenal Volcano
For our first morning in La Fortuna we start with the Venado Caves where we spend the morning exploring the vast caverns. After a delicious lunch of authentic Central American cuisine, we are off to the Arenal National Park hike which takes us through the old lava trails of the Arenal Volcano. Then it is back to the hotel to clean up and grab your swimsuit before you head to the famous hot springs of La Fortuna to enjoy an evening savoring the warm, tranquil waters and enjoying the spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano.

Day 5: Pacific Beach Resort
An early wake up call gets us off to the beautiful beaches of the Pacific Coast. Once we are checked into the resort, your guide will lunch with you and then leave you to unwind amid the beauty of Guanacaste on your own.

Days 6 and 7: Pacific Beach Resort
These days are dedicated to relaxing and just letting go at this beautiful and luxurious resort situated just minutes from pristine white sand beaches and clear blue water. You can occupy your time by lying around the pool, snorkeling (one time included), swimming in the ocean, or just enjoying the peace and quiet of this Northern Pacific luxury resort.
Day 8 Pacific Beach Resort
One last morning of lounging around the pool or snorkeling in the sparkling waters of the Pacific concludes your beach time. Early afternoon you are transported to Tamarindo to catch your flight back to San Jose. There, your guide will meet you at the airport and return with you to your hotel for a relaxing final evening and your farewell dinner.

We go to every length to ensure your safety throughout the activities, but because of the unknown factors (weather, water levels, safety conditions, etc.) we reserve the right to make any alterations necessary in the above described itinerary.
